I’m a reliable, well-organised person with a professional and focused approach to all aspects of my work. Used to working autonomously or as part of a team, I readily accept reponsibility and new challenges, meeting them to the best of my ability. Guide.
Troll Aktiv AS, Evje Norway
Duties:
Guiding various adventure activities such as White water rafting (grade 3/4), canoe & fell tours, climbing and abseiling. Leading groups of 30 with assistant instructors or up to 18 individually. Working in an international environment. Acting as group co-ordinator ensuring people enjoyed their stay at Troll.
November 2005 – April 2007.
Senior Outdoor Pursuits Instructor.
Adrenalin (N.Y) Ltd., Aske, Richmond
Duties:
Having a major role in the preparation, organisation and execution of many activities. Working with people from varied social backgrounds including those with challenging behaviour. Integrating, maintaining and organising equipment in the storerooms. Training and inducting new staff.
Answering directly to the Managing Director/Owner, I often took responsibility for the entire centre, staff and cash in the MD’s absence.
July – November 2005 (seasonal contract.)
Multi Activity Instructor.
Manor Adventure, Craven Arms, Shropshire/ Chateaux DuBroutel, Rue, France.
Duties:
Leading and instructing groups (some with challenging behaviour or disabilities), between ages 8-16 in various activities such as kayaking, canoeing, rock-climbing, abseiling, high-wire confidence courses, raft building, obstacle courses and hill-walks. My role was also to liaise with teachers and act as the first point of contact for fist-aid calls and fire alarms etc. while on call as “Duty Instructor”.
2004 – 2005.
Outdoor Pursuits Instructor.
Adrenalin (N.Y) Ltd., Aske, Richmond.
Duties:
Working with various age groups (generally between 10-24), assisting and instructing with outdoor activities include paintballing, assault course and high-ropes confidence course. Working as a team, as a pair or as an individual to ensure the safety and enjoyment of clients. Working under pressure to prepare facilities for customers’ arrival and rotations.
Member of the Mountain Leader Training Association.
